Laumann Family Fall 2004 Pictures

Late November, 2004.  All about Leila. This month sure went by quickly - a blur of diapers and baby bottles!

We end this Fall season blessed with a wonderful new addition to our family.  We are such proud parents!   Leila is beginning to smile and react and play more often now at 7 weeks old.  It's very fun to watch her grow.  She provides constant comedy around the house - staring at lights, then the animal mobile, then at us.  She'll quickly down a 4 oz. bottle of milk, burp, sink into a milk coma and smile heavily at a dream, eyelids open and her eyes rolled back. Then make a bunch of funny "coo" noises.  Soo cute.  And she's putting on some weight with all that milk!  Baby fat city, triple chin girl. Weighing in at 10 lbs 4 oz and 23 inches long  - she sports a daddy-like oversize head that's way too big for her infant hats, which are all stretched out now.

November 25-26, 2004.  Family Thanksgiving festivities with the Issa family and friends in the Los Angeles area. Our rambunctious nephew and niece - Isaac and Mary - are in most of the pictures as usual. :)

November 11, 2004.   La Jolla reef on a clean small fun day.

November 03, 2004.   Lake Poway solo fishing adventure for a few hours, "opening day".  The trout school was packed in Boat Dock cove still. Long casts with a Berkeley Powerworm was the ticket.  This is four pictures of the same fish.  Ok it was slow, but if I had some mackerel instead of yellowtail scraps for bait, I could've slayed the catfish like the other guy in pic #1.  That's the spot.

October 31, 2004.   More Pictures of Leila and family in her first three weeks. Leila has been drinking milk and formula every 3 hours around the clock, and burning through about 10 diapers a day.  She's put on a whole pound since birth - tipping the scales at a whopping 7 pounds and 4 ounces for our doctor visit today.  It's difficult to get a good night's sleep these days with all the action around the house through the night! Thankfully I have the next couple of weeks off work, so we'll have more free time to play with Leila and keep ourselves organized.  Leena and I took her on a first little walk down the street to the beach today where she seemed to enjoy the touch of warm sunshine on her skin.

October 24, 2004.   Kayak fished Tourmaline for four short WSB on live smelt and two halibut, one was 24" that I eventually dropped back in the water out of my plastic bag livewell setup. It was low tide with 1' waves, and pelicans crashing wildly in 3-5' of water.

October 08, 2004.   Leila is born!!!!!  A happy little baby girl weighing in at 6 pounds, 2 ounces at 9:41 pm at Scripps Memorial Hospital.  Since she was in breech position, she was born via C-section, and 16 days before the previously projected "due date".  She likes to sleep a lot so far, and Leena is breast-feeding as much as possible.

October 6, 2004.  Here we were just two days before the Leila was born ... at Sammy's in La Jolla with friends.

September 12, 2004.  Kayak fishing La Jolla kelp. Released a 10# yellowtail, 2 lingcod, dozens of calico bass and kept this Sheephead which was caught on plastic!

September 4 and 5, 2004.  We ventured to Baja as Hurricane Howard sends a much needed swell toward California.  Lynn, Vou, Leena and I stayed at La Mision hotel at La Fonda on Saturday night, and ventured as far south as Punta San Jose (4 hours south of the border) on Saturday looking for the swell.  Managed to score excellent waves both days however - La Fonda heavy left beachbreak peaks 3-7' on Saturday evening ....... then glassy K38 6-10' on Sunday. Light crowds in the water, good company, and great food. Pictures taken from Restaurant Ana Mar overlooking Teresa's.

Leena looking pretty prego at 8 and 9 months.
